-By Warner Todd Huston Vice President Joe Biden wants everyone to just calm down. He says that it’s “ much too premature ” to judge the Obama administration’s efforts in Afghanistan. Apparently, after a year of focusing on “the right war,” America is still waiting for the Obama administration to “develop” its policies there. But one thing seems sure, the Obama administration has already excluded the possibility that more troops will be sent if Biden’s comments can be believed. When asked if the additional 30,000 troops are successful, will…
New York Times reporters David Herszenhorn and Jackie Calmes reported on Obama’s politically calculated visit to the Tastee Sub Shop in Edison, N.J. in Thursday’s ” Obama Trumpets Party’s Small-Business Bona Fides .” The paper’s political team let Obama fully sell himself as a down-home populist by completely skipping (in the print edition) the fact that Obama would…
What is it with this White House and publicly calling out conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh? If you recall, back in January 2009 President Barack Obama told Republican congressional leaders to quit listening to Limbaugh if they wanted to get things done. It’s happened once again. During the White House daily press briefing on July 29, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs took another couple of jabs Limbaugh – this time over the auto manufacturer bailout. In responding…
It’s been more than three months since Governor Jan Brewer (R-Ariz.) signed SB-1070 into law, but Larry King continues to misrepresent both the spirit and letter of the popular anti-illegal immigration measure. On his eponymous program yesterday, the CNN host asked a guest if the law codifies racial profiling and empowers police officers to arbitrarily question and detain those suspected of being in the country illegally. “One of the things in this law that’s puzzling that [Judge Susan Bolton] pointed out is – and a police officer was on a recent show discussing it – you can just …
Clearly, the Democrats think they have something here tying together the Republican Party and the Tea Party. However, it seems to me that this political miscalculation is exactly why Congress’ approval rating is at 11%. What the Democratic Leadership doesn’t seem to understand is that the Tea Party isn’t a political party; it’s a set of ideas shared by the overwhelming majority of Americans. The Tea Party is made up of Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians, Constitution Party members, and apolitical Americans. They are mainstream folks who love our nation and who wish to …

Faith in the federal government is now at its lowest…
Guest post by Jim Durbin, 24thstate Last week, the reconstituted ACORN (now known as Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment), stormed a Chase Bank branch in St Louis in a carefully orchestrated protest designed to create sympathetic media stories for breaking the law.
