-By Warner Todd Huston Some of you may recall that early in the morning of July 28 of 2006 actor Mel Gibson was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Los Angeles, California. During that arrest, it was reported that Gibson was alleged to have launched into a brief but vehement denunciation of Jews that were “responsible for all the wars in the world.” Famed at the time for having produced and directed the film The …
Yippie : Former Agriculture Department official Shirley Sherrod announced Thursday that she intends to sue Andrew Breitbart for posting a misleading video of Sherrod that ended up costing her job. Sherrod made the announcement at the National Association of Black Journalists conference in San Diego. “I will definitely do it,” she said. Sherrod lost her job last week after Breitbart posted a clip of a video on one of his conservative sites that appeared to show Sherrod telling an NAACP conference that she did not lend her “full force” …
Roger Simon’s Wednesday morning column (“Journolist veers out of bounds”), an item Rush brought up on his show this afternoon, may be one of the most delusional items ever written by a journalist attempting to defend his profession. Rich Noyes at NewsBusters covered one aspect of Simon’s column on Wednesday, namely the deliciously hypocritical outrage of NBC/MSNBC reporter Chuck Todd over how the Journolist scandal “has been keeping him up nights, and he’s especially frustrated that ‘the right’ would use it as ‘a …
Stuart Smalley Afraid Of Oversight? Say It Isn’t So! Why So Afraid, Al? Senator Al Franken, former Air America radio host and comedian. He’s afraid of GOP oversight! Al Franken”s Keynote Speech at Netroots Nation : “Here’s more key evidence of how deeply top Democratic officials are tied to the neo-communist anti-Semitic hate-blog Daily Kos (and the rest of the progressive blogosphere, CAP, Media Mutters, etc.). Take your time and really listen to chief election thief Al Franken…

Sherrod also once again pushed the lie that Fox News was a culprit in her firing. “It wasn’t all media. It was Fox,” the fired federal employee said to the Old Media. The FACT is, Fox had precisely nothing to do with her firing as Fox News didn’t start broadcasting the story until after she was fired
My conservative-leaning colleagues on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and I have issued the following joint statement in response to certain assertions made by Abigail Thernstrom about the New Black Panther Party matter. Our fellow member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, Abigail Thernstrom, has asserted in various media outlets that the Commission’s investigation into the Justice Department’s handling of the New Black Panther Party matter is a politically-motivated attempt to damage President Obama. Commissioner Thernstrom told Politico last …
I said last week that I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a major story in the mainstream press in the months ahead saying that the spill isn’t going to be as much of a disaster as advertised. And here come those stories, much sooner than I expected. First, we had the New York Times saying that the spill, at least…
On August 1, former CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour will become the permanent host of ABC’s This Week, replacing Jake Tapper. In preparation, the MRC has compiled the top ten examples of the journalist’s over-the-top liberal bias. Despite asserting in 2009 that “nobody knows my biases,” Amanpour has gushed over many left-wing politicians, including Hillary Clinton: “…A lot of the women that I meet from traveling overseas are very impressed by you and admire your dignity.” She also justified Barack Obama’s Nobel Prize win, lauding, “He’s …
[Posted by Karl] Although I have recently spent far too much time reading and examining the work of Conor Friedersdorf , his Forbes defense of the planned mosque at Ground Zero is so shallow — and so emblematic of his approach — that it warrants further effort on my part. Friedersdorf starts with a stunningly inapt analogy: You’ve probably heard about “The Ground Zero Mosque,” an Islamic community center planned in Lower Manhattan. But I bet you haven’t heard of The Ground Zero Strip Club. There are actually a couple of adult entertainment venues that show up on Google Maps if you search around the former site of the World…
