Shirley Sherrod claims that she “definitely” will sue Andrew Breitbart for posting the famous video clip of her addressing an NAACP group on his Big Government site. “He had to know that he was targeting me,” she says. It isn’t clear what Ms. Sherrod intends to sue Breitbart for; some variety of defamation, presumably. It seems inconceivable that she could survive summary judgment under the actual malice standard that would apply. Offhand, I would think that she would be better served to sue Tom Vilsack.
On Thursday’s Newsroom, CNN’s Tony Harris played hardball with Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce, the author of the SB1070 anti-illegal immigration law in the state, while not asking one tough question with his other guest, pro-illegal immigration activist Isabel Garcia. Surprisingly, Harris did finally explicitly identify the pro-open borders organization that Garcia leads [audio clips available here ]. The CNN anchor brought on Pearce and Garcia to discuss a federal district justice’s Wednesday injunction against key provisions in the Arizona law. He identified the state senator as the “lawmaker who co-sponsored the immigration bill,” and his other guest’s role as…
On June 24, 2010, I had a post on BigHollywood that examined Robert Redford’s asinine statements about the Gulf Oil Spill. From his support of a drilling moratorium to the fact that he literally blamed the spill on Dick Cheney to the way he expected George W. Bush to respond instantly to Katrina, while making excuses for President Obama’s slow response to the BP disaster, his words were just another proof that many actors in Hollywood are out of touch with reality. And although I hoped Redford would rethink his pomposity before speaking again on topics that he seems unable to …

Cross-posted to Liberty Central President Obama and the current Congressional leadership were swept into office on a wave of dissatisfaction with George Bush and a Republican Congress. Polls showed that Americans were open to the idea of greater government intervention as a way to address serious problems. President Obama promised that he would expand the role of government to ‘fix’ health care, Wall Street, the economy, energy, and other challenges. A new poll from the liberal Center for American Progress shows that less than 2 years later, confidence in the ability of government …

President Obama promised that he would expand the role of government to ‘fix’ health care, Wall Street, the economy, energy, and other challenges. Faith in the federal government is now at its lowest…
(David Kopel) Ronald Reagan once said that the conservative D.C. weekly Human Events was his favorite newspaper. And with good reason. Back in the 1970s and 1980s, there were few significant alternatives to the then-hegemonic MSM. Along with National Review , which was Reagan’s favorite magazine, Human Events was an essential source for stories that the MSM refused to cover, and for perspectives that the MSM shut out or marginalized. Unfortunately, a recent article in Human Events falls very far below the solid journalism standards which helped Human Events earn the respect of Reagan and so many others. “ Obama The Muslim ,” by Major Gen. …
NBC’s Ann Curry, in an exclusive interview with Vice President Joe Biden aired on Thursday’s Today show, pushed Biden from the left on war funding for Afghanistan as she exclaimed “boy there was some reluctance” in the House and pressed: “How long can we keep paying for this war?” The bill actually passed by a vote of 308 to 114 but Curry claimed the “reluctance” was significant she recited Democratic Congressman Jim McGovern’s frustration that “we need to do more nation building here at home,” as seen in the following exchange: ANN CURRY: Meantime the House, on Tuesday night, agreed to fund a surge in Afghanistan – $33 billion for 30,000 …
Liberals are desperate to bully or chide the rest of the country into accepting massive new taxes to support the recent federal spending surge. Many opponents who resisted the spending on the grounds that it increased the budget deficit are now being called deficit chickens because they oppose the tax hikes needed to pay for all that spending. This is a nauseating development, as the charge comes from those whose actions prove they care not one whit about the nation’s finances. Nauseating or not, however, there is no …
For those of you who have not heard, my book is coming out in two months. Some of you have emailed to ask why my front page postings have been lighter than normal, both here and at Peach Pundit. Well, now you know — I’ve been writing, just not here. You can pre-order Red State Uprising: How to Take Back America right here via the RedState Store at Amazon. Below are the …
A key story from today centers on John Dingell and his criticism of Chairman Julius Genachowski and the Obama FCC. Hillicon Valley reports that Dingell is criticizing the Commission harshly for failing to justify its Title II Reclassification plans to Deem and Pass Net Neutrality regulation of the Internet, and is telling them to stop and let the Congress do its job. Seriously, this is strong …
