-By Warner Todd Huston This is how the left treats those with whom they disagree, folks. Daily Kos contributing editor and Examiner.com writer Steven Andrew has suggested that anyone that disagrees with the globaloney of global warming should commit suicide in a “Soylent Green world.” In his examiner column headlined, “ Studies Show Dramatic Decrease in Plankton ,” Andrew made what he called a “symbolic suggestion” that might…
I t’s a fairly obvious reason that Kenneth P. Green and Hiwa Alaghebandian, writing in the Journal of the American Enterprise Institute , point to as the problem – in some areas, science and scientists have gone from being neutral observers of facts and purveyors of information developed through the scientific method to attempting to assume an authoritarian and activist role in our lives. Not all of science, obviously, but certainly a visible and loud minority. And that causes problems for all of science: In…

I really want to like this guy Guinta; if he clears the primary I’m going to have to vote for him. It’s getting harder rather than easier though, because he seems far too adept at blaming everyone else but himself for his troubles. This is not a good sign. I wrote in this space recently about my concerns with Guinta’s position on the Stimulus bill . His fans supporters and minions took me to task on the credibility of both my claims and my sources, and that’s ok – this is a blood sport after all. But in my follow-…
We’re receiving word that the next three weeks — prior to Congress’ summer recess — represents the Democrats’ best chance at getting a climate change bill passed this year.
Many of the so-called solutions the green movement?proposes consist of turning back?the clock and relying on technology we left behind decades, even centuries ago:?They want us to use windmills and railroads, use more land for crops (and thereby less for forests), and burn plants to make energy.?Now, there has come along a fellow who thinks air conditioning is a bane rather than a boon and hankers for the offices of the 1940…
The Washington Post put the bad news for liberals right at the top of Monday’s front page, left side: “Climate debate unmoved by spill.” Reporters David Fahrenthold and Juliet Eilperin lamented that “great change” is not following the “great tragedy” of the BP oil spill. We haven’t had an “awakening” to our wasteful ways: Environmentalists say they’re trying to turn public outrage over oil-smeared pelicans into action against more abstract things, such as oil dependence and climate change. But historians say they’re facing a political moment …
(Jonathan H. Adler) Last week, the UK Independent Climate Change Email Review (aka the Muir Russell Review) released its report on the alleged scientific misconduct of climate researchers revealed by the disclosure of e-mails from the Climatic Research Unit at East Anglia University. As the NYT reports, the review rejects the claims that the ClimateGate e-mails disclosed scientific fraud or chicanery in climate science, but also criticized some of the scientists involved for some of their conduct and concluded that a specific graph of past temperatures was “misleading,” even if not fraudulent. In other words, the “trick” to “hide the decline” did produce a misleading graph, but the underlying scientific case for…
Flashback to March, 2009 : the White House unveils an unprecedented effort. Rather than allowing President Obama’s campaign organization to hibernate for four years, the DNC turns Obama for America into Organizing for America – a permanent campaign that will push aggressively for enactment of the Obama agenda. The Obama administration and the Democratic National Committee opened a new chapter Saturday in their ambitious…
Global warming back with a vengeance since last winter. Global warming – Environment – Climate change – Opposing Views – Climate Change Skeptics
[Guest post by DRJ] “ Michael Mann says hockey stick should not have become ‘climate change icon’:” “Professor Michael Mann plotted a graph in the late 1990s that showed global temperatures for the last 1,000 years. It showed a sharp rise in temperature over the last 100 years as man made carbon emissions also increased, creating the shape of a hockey stick. *** However, speaking to the …
